Despite entering their first-ever continental adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing star figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding result that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
A further victory in their upcoming match against Finnish KuPS should be enough to seal direct passage to the knockout stages, particularly following a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Moment
This match provided a chance for some of Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
A Shelbourne team that had concluded their domestic season proved outmatched against a mostly rotated Palace outfit. The visitors were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
